leave of absence on half pay, together with 3 months
vacation leave. 1f leave is granted to me i should like
to take it from about atober 1st 1918, provided 1 oun
obtain passages and a passport for my ife.
5. Whe present occnsion appears to me to be
appropriate for urging the nocqusity of the appointment
of an Assistant auditor to the udit staff of auritius.
-part from the fact that the re is no provision for the
performance, by a qualified - asistant, of the duties of
uditor of auritius during such time as the latter
may be absent either on lesve or otherwise, I consider
that the socounts of the olony of auritius are of
sufficient importance to warrant the inclusion of an
Basistant Auditor on the permanent staff, the hallway
Accounts alone ere, in my opinion, need an amount of
detailed supervision which should be undertaken by an
suistant auditor.
